Handmade jacket from pure Bhutanese Yathra wool. Each piece is unique and exists only once.
Chem La’ is the symbol for the butterfly and symbolises the beginning of new life and thus of hope and dreams.
In Bhutanese textile art, patterns & colours are influenced by nature. The four elements of the earth, Sa (earth), Chu (water), Mai (fire) and Lung (air) serve as inspiration for the hand-woven yathras. Tradition says that using the natural colours would bring safety from natural disasters. To protect oneself from this, one has to create a balance with the elements of nature – this is the belief in the traditional textile art.
Hand-woven jacket made of 100% Yathra wool (yak & cotton mix) with an inner lining of pure raw silk. Our handmade unique pieces are made in the traditional way by our artist Tschering in Timphu, Bhutan.
