Naturally in harmony with Mother Nature, our ‘Oversized Poncho Scarves’ are made from sustainably produced cashmere in the natural cashmere colours, locally, in the Normad cooperatives. Each piece is unique.
‘Khan-buguivch’ symbolises the necklace of the Khan, the leader of the Mongolian people and is a sign of peace in Mongolian culture.
3 in 1 our ‘Khan’ poncho scarf is double sided patterned and can be worn as a scarf, a poncho or a shawl.
Mongolia’s most exclusive material is cashmere. We uncompromisingly use the best available, certified (Sustainable Cashmere Certificate) and most sustainable cashmere wool for our artworks. The process of extracting it, by combing it out, is handmade. The harsh landscape and temperatures as low as -40 degrees give cashmere an incredible softness and resilience.
Each goat can produce 150 to 300g of cashmere hair per year. This “gold of Mongolia” forms the basis of our unique works of art.
Back to the origin – All artworks are made in the cooperative ‘Ar Arvijin Delgerekh’ in central Mongolia. We shift the entire production process / value creation back to the nomads, into the cooperatives. This enables a fair income, as well as a self-determined life beyond the big cities.
Thanks to the unique craftsmanship, the natural materials and the uniqueness of the design, our ‘Khan’ cashmere poncho scarf is a work of art for eternity.
Unique from Arkhangai aimag, Mongolia. Only 20 pieces will be produced.
